About Auli

A Journey Through Uttarakhand's Alpine Wonderland

Auli, world-renowned as India’s premier ski resort destination, is situated at an elevation of 2,800 meters in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Surrounded by magnificent 360-degree views of Himalayan giants such as Nanda Devi, Kamet, and Mana Parvat, Auli turns into a dazzling snow slope in winter and a lush green flower-carpeted meadow in summer.

From rides on Asia’s longest ropeways departing from Joshimath to trekking across Gorson Bugyal, discovering the serene reflections of Chenab Lake, witnessing the sacred confluence at Vishnuprayag, or embarking on a spiritual pilgrimage to Badrinath—CAB4SURE ensures a safe, comfortable, and memorable mountain road voyage.

Auli – Ski Capital of India

Auli is a world-class skiing haven, boasting extensive powder slopes, modern ski lifts, artificial snow-making lakes, and panoramic vistas of Nanda Devi peak (7,816m). The four-kilometer cable car connecting Joshimath to Auli offers unmatched aerial views of deep valleys and oak forests.

Whether you are an adventure seeker eager to slide down pristine winter slopes or a nature lover seeking tranquil oak forest walks in spring, Auli captivates every visitor.

Joshimath – Gateway to the Himalayas

Joshimath (Jyotirmath) is a vibrant pilgrimage center established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. Located at the foot of Auli, it acts as the gateway to major expeditions, Valley of Flowers, Hemkund Sahib, and Badrinath Temple.

Visitors explore ancient mathas, Kalpavriksha tree, and Narasimha Temple—the winter seat of Lord Badrinath when the main shrine remains snowbound.

Gorson Bugyal – High Altitude Alpine Meadow

Situated at 3,056 meters, Gorson Bugyal is a vast undulating grassland located just a 3 km scenic trek from Auli. Surrounded by dense conifer and oak woods, this meadow unveils unobstructed close-up views of Nanda Devi and Chattarkund lake.

In summer, the meadow bursts with colorful wildflower blooms, while in winter, it transforms into an unending sheet of untouched snow.

Chenab Lake & Vishnuprayag

Tucked away in quiet wilderness near Dang village, Chenab Lake is a pristine, untouched water body surrounded by pine forests. A short drive down brings you to Vishnuprayag—one of the sacred Panch Prayags where the roaring waters of Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers merge.

Both spots offer serene surroundings for nature photographers, peaceful breaks, and awe-inspiring views of river confluence gorges.

Badrinath – Sacred Char Dham Shrine

Located roughly 45 km from Joshimath along the banks of Alaknanda river, Badrinath is one of India’s most revered Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Nestled between the Nar and Narayana mountain ranges, the colorful temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Travelers combine their Auli getaway with visits to Tapt Kund thermal springs, Mana Village (the last Indian village near the Tibet border), and Vasudhara Falls.
