Discover Himachal Pradesh

Welcome to Himachal

One State, Many Mountain Experiences

Himachal Pradesh brings together scenic hill stations, alpine valleys, spiritual retreats, adventure routes and remote Himalayan landscapes. Whether you want leisurely walks and heritage architecture or winding mountain roads and high-altitude scenery, the state offers a trip for every travel style.

Use Shimla as a base for Kufri, explore the Kullu Valley from Manali, slow down by the Parvati River in Kasol, or plan a longer journey into Spiti Valley. Dharamshala, McLeod Ganj and Dalhousie offer Tibetan culture, forest walks and peaceful hill-town charm.

Shimla – Colonial Charm & Mountain Views

Explore The Ridge, Mall Road, Christ Church and heritage-era buildings set among forested hills. Visit Jakhoo Temple for elevated views, then enjoy the town’s cafés and old-world streets.

Nearby: Kufri, Naldehra, Mashobra and Chail. Allow 3–5 days for Shimla and the surrounding countryside.

Kufri – Forest Trails & Himalayan Views

Kufri is a popular excursion from Shimla, with mountain viewpoints, woodland scenery and seasonal winter activities. Snow depends on weather and is never guaranteed.

Combine with: Shimla, Mashobra and Naldehra for an easy hill-station circuit.

Manali – The Heart of the Kullu Valley

Manali blends mountain scenery with cafés, temples, river views and outdoor adventures. Explore Hadimba Devi Temple, Old Manali and Vashisht, then set aside a day for Solang Valley or the Atal Tunnel route when conditions allow.

Nearby: Naggar, Kullu, Sissu and Solang Valley. A 4–6 day stay suits the town and a few day trips.

Kasol – Riverside Base in Parvati Valley

Kasol is a relaxed base for riverside walks, mountain views and exploring the Parvati Valley. Its café culture and nearby villages appeal to travellers who prefer a slower pace.

Nearby: Manikaran Sahib, Chalal and Tosh. Check local conditions before longer walks or hikes.

Spiti Valley – Dramatic Landscapes & Monasteries

Spiti contrasts with greener hill stations through stark mountains, traditional villages and Buddhist monasteries. Popular stops include Kaza, Key Monastery, Kibber, Langza, Hikkim and Komik.

Plan carefully: Allow several days, acclimatise gradually, and check road status, weather and local advice. Spiti is best as a separate trip.

Dharamshala – Forested Hills & Tibetan Heritage

Set against the Dhauladhar range, Dharamshala combines hillside scenery with Tibetan cultural institutions, monasteries, cafés and forest walks.

Nearby: McLeod Ganj, Norbulingka Institute, Dal Lake and Dhauladhar viewpoints.

Dalhousie – Old-World Hill Station

Dalhousie is known for colonial-era character, pine-covered slopes, open views and a restful atmosphere. Explore its churches and promenades, or take a scenic excursion to Khajjiar when conditions permit.

Nearby: Khajjiar, Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary and Chamba. Allow 2–4 days for a relaxed stay.

McLeod Ganj – Monasteries & Mountain Walks

McLeod Ganj, above Dharamshala, is an important centre of Tibetan culture. Explore the Tsuglagkhang complex, monasteries, markets and cafés, or choose a guided walk with mountain views.

Nearby: Bhagsu waterfall, Bhagsunag Temple and Naddi viewpoint. Easily paired with Dharamshala.

Himachal Itinerary

Customise your journey: The itinerary, destinations, overnight stops and duration can be modified based on your requirements, interests, travel dates, available time, acclimatisation needs, permits and current road conditions. The suggested route is a starting point, not a fixed package.
