Discover Kainchi Dham

About Pilgrimage

A Sacred & Scenic Journey Through Kumaon

Nestled among the quiet valleys and emerald hills of Uttarakhand, Kainchi Dham is a world-renowned spiritual sanctuary established by Neem Karoli Baba. Attracting seekers, tech visionaries, and devotees from every corner of the globe, this serene ashram offers an environment of deep meditation, divine tranquility, and absolute peace.

Beyond the spiritual solace of Kainchi Dham lies the enchanting region of Kumaon. From the glistening lakes of Nainital, Bhimtal, and Sattal to the sacred bell-adorned temple of Ghorakhal and the cultural heritage of Almora, this circuit blends sacred devotion with breathtaking Himalayan vistas.

Kainchi Dham - The Spiritual Sanctuary

Situated at an altitude of 1,400 meters on the Bhowali-Almora road, Kainchi Dham is a revered shrine dedicated to Shri Neem Karoli Baba Maharaj. Set amidst lush pine woods and a gently flowing mountain stream, the ashram is celebrated worldwide for its transformative, calm aura and spiritual upliftment.

Visitors experience a profound sense of serenity here. The annual Bhandara on June 15th draws tens of thousands of devotees who partake in prayers and community prasad in the valley.

Nainital - The City of Lakes

Encircled by seven majestic hills, Nainital is Kumaon’s crown jewel. Built around the shimmering eye-shaped Naini Lake, this charming hill station features bustling Mall Road, the sacred Naina Devi Temple along the northern shore, and spectacular viewpoints like Snow View and Tiffin Top.

Enjoy peaceful wooden boat rides across the lake, explore colonial-era heritage buildings, and sample local Kumaoni delicacies as you take in the fresh mountain breeze.

Ghorakhal - Land of Golu Devta & Mountain Vistas

Famous for the temple of Lord Golu—regarded as the God of Justice in Kumaoni folklore—Ghorakhal is known for thousands of brass bells hung by devotees whose prayers were fulfilled.

Perched high on a ridge, Ghorakhal also offers stunning panoramas of surrounding valleys, nearby tea estates, and the renowned Sainik School Ghorakhal campus.

Bhimtal - The Scenic Lake Jewel

Larger and quieter than Nainital, Bhimtal centers around a magnificent blue lake with a unique island at its heart, housing a popular public aquarium. Named after the legendary Mahabharata hero Bhima, it retains a relaxed, uncluttered atmosphere.

Visitors can enjoy paddle boating, kayaking, visiting the ancient Bhimeshwar Mahadev Temple on the lake shore, or relaxing along scenic lakeside promenades.

Sattal - The Seven Lakes Paradise

An interconnected group of seven freshwater lakes nestled inside dense oak and pine forests, Sattal is one of Uttarakhand’s most pristine natural hideaways. It is an internationally famous haven for birdwatching and photography.

Free from commercial noise, Sattal provides opportunities for nature walks, camping, kayaking, and spotting migratory mountain birds in untouched habitats.

Almora - Cultural & Panoramic Hill Town

Perched on a horse-shoe shaped ridge, Almora is celebrated as the cultural heart of Kumaon. Known for rich handicraft traditions, vibrant local bazaars, and panoramic views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi and Trishul.

Key attractions include Kasar Devi (renowned for its unique geomagnetic field that attracted Swami Vivekananda and Bob Dylan), Bright End Corner for sunset views, and the historic Chitai Golu Devta Temple.
